JOIN US FOR A SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW!
As you might already know, Koullias Hotels have committed to lowering our carbon print, protecting the local fauna/flora and the sea, contributing to the local community, and disseminating the local culture.
We recognize that the above is a team effort, so we would like to invite you to our team. You can choose to be the tourist that contributes to sustainable growth in these field:
FOOD WASTE – We invite you to try our delicious recipes, eat as much as you wish and revisit our buffets. Be aware though that food remnants are not only a waste of produce, water, electricity, transportation fuels and man hours: cooked food emits disproportional amounts of toxic methane. So please eat all that you wish, but fill your plate only with things that you know you will eat
ROOM & POOL TOWELS- In your bathroom you will find a note encouraging you to reuse your towels- daily washing means more detergent, water and electricity that burden the environment. And it’s even worse if people bring their room towels to the beach/pool since it means extra cleaning methods so that they can be put back to your room clean. Please reuse your bath towels and do not bring them at the beach/pool
SHEETS – At your night stand you will find a pyramid note asking you to place it on your bed if you need your bed linen changed. Again, daily washing means all the above effects on the environment, so you can decide to delay having your linens changed.
RECYCLING BINS -Across all the interior and exterior spaces of our Hotel, even at the beach, you will come across the three-colors recycling bins. Please make the extra effort to recycle your waste instead of using the general trash bin
FAUCETS- As we hope that you do back home, we encourage you to turn off the faucets and not let the water run if you don’t actually need it. Just think that a faucet/showerhead has an average water-flow of 7,5 liters per minute.
LIGHTS & A/C- You can contribute by turning off the lights of a room/balcony you are not using and turning off the A/C when leaving the room. Also watch for the thermostat and choose a pleasantly cool temperature not a freezing one.
BIKE FRIENDLY- Why not explore the long seaside bike path, or the cycling trails of our Island? Our Hotel is Bike Friendly, offering secure parking or storage, repair tool kits, charging stations for electric bikes, bike renting and repairing* next to our Hotel, daily laundry services*, detailed cycling routes and a lot more. Items with an asterisk might incur charges.
LOCAL WINERIES - The fertile ground of Kos has been blessed through the centuries with all kinds of fruits, vegetables and grains but wine was the most famous product of the island. We have kept till today the grape varieties that produced the famous Koan wine and you would be helping conserve the ancient traditions by visiting one of the seven local wineries and try their grapes and wine
